3 presidential bets include Villanueva in Senate slate

Reelectionist Senator Joel “Tesdaman” Villanueva thanked the three presidentials candidates for endorsing him to return to the Senate for the May 2022 elections.

Among the presidential bets who included in their senatorial line-up Villanueva’s name were Vice President Leni Robredo, Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Senator Manny Pacquiao.

According to Villanueva, this is proof that the three aspiring Presidents have seen the importance of advancing the issue of employment and livelihood, which is Tesdaman’s main advocacy.

Villanueva is referring to the fact that apart from making laws and tabling bills it has also created extra jobs for citizens.

“We are very grateful and pleased to join Tesdaman as the guest candidate of VP Robredo, Senator Lacson, Pacquiao and other presidential candidates,” said Villanueva, chairman of the Senate Labor Committee that promotes policies related to employment and livelihood of Filipino workers.

Villanueva was elected senator in 2016 and was second among the winning senators for garnering 18,459,222 votes

Before being elected senator, he served as director general of TESDA from 2010 to 2015. With his expansion of tech-voc training, more than 20 Villanueva, who is also chairman of Senate higher and technical-vocational education, helped millions of Filipinos.

As senator some of his bills that were signed into law are Doctor for the People; Work from Home law; Help Work law; Job Safety and Health Standards; and First-time Jobseekers Assistance Act.

Villanueva has filed 500 bills since he became a senator and 82 of them have all become law.

Two of them will soon become law — the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers and the Department of Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos which are expected to be passed by the congress before the end of the year.

Villanueva was the youngest legislator elected in 2002 as a representative of the Citizens ’Battle Against Corruption (CIBAC)

Villanueva intends to be re-elected to create more laws that will provide protection to our workers.

Villanueva also wants to promote job creation, provide adequate education for every citizen, adequate and proper services to all citizens, dignity of every one and the advancement of every Filipino.

And apart from his passion for the game of basketball, he has also twice represented our country in such tournaments.
