MALABON City police scored another victory in their fight against illegal drugs following the arrest of two women and confiscation of more than P1.1 million worth of shabu in a drug sting operation Thursday evening in Bgy. Potrero.

City police chief P/Col. Albert Barot said Mitchie Patricio, 24, of Interior 18, Pilar St. Tondo, Manila, and Andrea Janet De Leon, 22, of Building 2 Tenement, Bgy. San Roque, Navotas City, were nabbed by elements of Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) in a buy-bust operation at around 10 p.m. at the corner of Pinagtipunan Circle and Tuazon Street, Bgy. Potrero.

The arrest of the suspects, who were in the list of high value targets, was the result of more than a week of intelligence and monitoring operation conducted by operatives of SDEU led by P/Lt, Alexander Dela Cruz.

Dela Cruz said they immediately arrested the suspects after they handed a medium-size plastic sachet containing shabu to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for P1,000 marked money.

When frisked, the suspects yielded a total of 165 grams of shabu with standard drug price of P1,122,000 and the buy-bust money.

Charges of selling and possession of illegal drugs will be filed by the police against the arrested suspects before the Malabon City Prosecutor’s Office.
