2 rob suspects nabbed while fleeing looted house in QC
PATROLLING members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested two robbery suspects while allegedly fleeing the house they had robbed in Novaliches, on Saturday.
PLt.Col. Von June Nuyda, PS 4 Commander, identified the arrested suspect as Marlon Molina Macalla, 21, and Aladin Barrios Gabayero, 22, both residents of Brgy. Gulod, Novaliches, Quezon City.
A report showed that at about 4:20 p.m. of October 22, 2022, the suspects managed to sneak into the house of Rhoann Mecado Nuevo, in Sta. Monica Village, Brgy. Gulod, Novaliches, by destroying the door knob.
Once inside the house, the suspects allegedly stole the belongings of the victim. However, they were seen by witness Monica Martizalo Ocate, who shouted for help and chased the fleeing suspects.
As the witness was chasing the suspects, she spotted PS 4 patrolling officers. She immediately sought their assistance.
The responding officers responded which resulted in the immediate arrest of the suspects and recovery of the victim’s cellphone, two watches and a gold plated necklace.
The arrested suspects will be charged with robbery before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
PBGen. Nicolas Torre III lauded the prompt response of PCpl Jonathan Gragasin and PCpl Christopher Babia, both PS 4 patrolling officers, which led to the immediate arrest of the suspects. “Muli ko pong pinapaalalahanan ang publiko na mag-ingat at ikandado ng mabuti ang ating kabahayan kung aalis upang maiwasan na ito’y pasukin ng mga kawatan,” he added.
