12 held for illegal domino, bingo operations in Ecija

GAPAN CITY — Twelve personalities were rounded up during an anti-illegal gambling operation conducted here which also resulted in the arrest of its two operators, police said on Wednesday, City police chief Lt. Col. Alexie Desamito identified the arrested suspects who were tagged as the operators of the illegal domino and bingo games in Purok 1, Bgy. Maburak as Guillermo Marquez, 49, single, and Magielyn Ludovico, 32, both jobless.

Desamito said the raid on the alleged gambling dens took place at 5 p.m. resulting in the arrest of 10 other suspects identified as Benedicto Cabling, 45, driver, Marvin Marquez, 27, driver, Arman Henson, 24, driver, Mariane Andasan, 28, jobless, Marilou Dupilas, 24, single, jobless, Ma. Theresa Abesamis, 50, jobless, Joana Valenzuela, 45, vendor, Analyn Cabling, 31, Michelle Bernabe, 25, jobless, and Christopher Cabling, all of Bgy. Maburak, this city.

Seized during the raid were a set of domino tiles, bingo cards, bingo balls (bulitos), shaker and P3,100 in bet money.

Desamito said the suspects were all taken into custody while charges for violation of P.D. 1602 are set to be filed against them before the city prosecutor’s office here.
