Zeinab feels lucky with Derek as first leading man
ZEINAB Harake gained fame as a content creator and influencer in Youtube. She now crosses over to mainstream showbiz, appearing in her first acting role as Loretta, the third wheel in the relationship of Derek Ramsay and Beauty Gonzalez in the Metro filmfest horror-drama, “Kampon”, produced by Quantum Films, written by Dodo Dayao and directed by King Palisoc.
It’s our first time to see her up close and the 25-year old Zeinab is much prettier in person than in her Youtube videos. As Loretta, she has a love scene with Derek and it’s a wild one compared to Derek’s more sweet and romantic love scene with Beauty, who plays his wife in the story.
“Medyo naloka po ako sa love scene namin kasi honestly, first time ko po makipag-kissing scene sa lalaking hindi ko naman talaga partner,” she says. “But about Sir Derek, wala po akong masabing katrabaho siya, kasi sobrang marespeto po talaga siya.”
She says her character as Loretta is so very different from what she is in real life. “Baguhan lang po ako so nangangapa ako. But gina-guide po ako ni Sir Derek sa eksena, sila ni Direk King Palisoc. Andodoon sila all the way to guide me kung paano ko gagawin. Without them, hindi ko alam kung paano ko kakayanin yung eksena. I just hope viewers will enjoy watching our scene.”
She feels fortunate that it’s Derek who is her leading man in her first movie.
“Kasi he really made me feel comfortable para hindi ako mahirapan sa eksena. Hindi nga ako makapaniwala when we watched the scene na nagawa ko yun. Naloka ako at sabi ko, shit, ako ba talaga ito?”
She has seen Derek’s past love scene and she never thought she’d do one with him someday.
“Napanood ko yung love scenes ni Sir Derek with Anne Curtis at feeling ko, ka-level ko na si Anne Curtis dahil nabigyan ako ng chance na magawa yung ganun scene with him. I’m not sure if it’s good or bad or nakakatawa, pero ang mahalaga, nailaban naman. Grabe yung mga ginawa ko at inilaban ko talaga kaya sana magustuhan ng viewers.”
What can Derek say about Zeinab? “Wild talaga yung eksena namin. May scene na nagkakagatan kami ng labi at inuntog pa niya yung ulo ko sa pader,” says Derek. “Rambulan talaga kami sa kama. But just like with my past love scenes, sabi ko kay Zeinab, pagbutihin na namin agad para one take lang at hindi maging awkward.”
He says Zeinab listens intently and learns quickly. “Nakita ko naman yung transformation ni Zeinab to being her character in a snap of a finger. You wouldn’t think it’s just her first time to do something like that kasi she really went straight into her character, tinodo niya yung eksena and she delivered. We shot the scene for 30 minutes and it was a very intense 30 minutes.”
About her lovelife, after her failed romance with a rapper with whom she has a child, Zeinab is now in a relationship with cager Bobby Parks. She says she sees herself settling with down with him eventually. “Napakabait po niya. Inaalagaan niya yung anak ko at yung ampon ko. Hatid-sundo niya sa eskwela, tapos kapag busy ako, siya ang nagbabantay. At ang maganda sa lahat, we have good communication always.”
