Zambales beach swallows swimmer, pukes another
A grade 11 student on Thursday was drowned while another one survived at a beach in Bgy. 6, San Miguel, San Antonio, Zambales.
The fatality was identified as Alexuz Gabriel Evangelista, 16, of Purok 4, Bgy. San Nicolas, San Antonio.
The survivor was identified as Eugene Lee, 16, of Purok 7, Bgy. San Nicolas.
Police said the two went to the sea together with their companions to swim at a San Miguel beach.
However, powerful waves pushed them towards the deep portion of the beach.
Lee managed to swim towards the shoreline and survived but Evangelista didn’t.
Members of the Phil. Coast Guard, Phil, Navy and MDRMMO of the San Antonio, Zambales launched a search and retrieval operation to recover the body of the victim.
