A 29-year-old woman, believed to have been sexually abused, was found dead inside her house Monday evening in Malabon City.

Malabon police chief P/Col. Albert Barot said the half naked and bloodied body of the woman was discovered by her boyfriend at around 6:30 p.m. inside her home along A. Cruz St. Brgy. Baritan.

The boyfriend told police that he went to the house of his girlfriend after she failed to answer her call and text massages and saw her lying on the floor in a pool of blood when he peeped through the main door.

Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, who went to the area to convey her sympathy to the victim’s family, condemned the killing and asked authorities to conduct an immediate investigation and see to it that the main perpetrators are brought to justice.

On the same night that the body was found, joint elements of Malabon police and Northern District Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) positively identified the suspect, 26, of 30 Pantihan 2 Naval St., Brgy. Flores, Malabon City after he was seen on the close circuit television (CCTV) camera installed in the area entering the house of the victim at around 1 p.m. wearing a black t-shirt and carrying a black sport bag.

He went out after an hour wearing yellow t-shirt.

CIDG operatives led by P/MSgt. Roberto Borromeo was able to trace the driver of the e-bike hired by the suspect in going home and said he noticed that the right eye of his passenger was bleeding, indicating that the victim might have fought back against her perpetrator.

With the help of the e-bike driver, police were able to trace the suspect’s house in Brgy. Flores, Malabon City.

Relatives told the authorities that the suspect had confessed to them that he just killed someone and asked them for money as fare in going to his grandfather’s house in Malolos City, Bulacan.

Wasting no time, joint elements of Malabon police and CIDG trooped to Malolos City and at around 12 a.m, Tuesday, they were able to locate the house of the suspect’s grandfather in front of Centro Escolar University in McArhur Hi-way that resulted in his arrest.

Col. Barot said the suspect, who was previously arrested for selling illegal drugs, tried to resist but operatives were able to subdue him. The yellow t-shirt and dark shorts he was wearing when he was seen going out of the victim’s house was recovered inside the black sport bag he was carrying.
