Woman, 75, who jumped off Jaen Bridge, found floating in river
SAN LEONARDO, Nueva Ecija – The body of a 75-year-old woman who was reported missing a few days ago after jumping off a bridge in nearby Jaen town was found floating in a river in Cabiao, police here reported on Monday.
Town police head Major Jaime Ferrer said the dead woman, identified as Carmelita Fernando, of Barangay Tambo Adorable, was found floating at the Pampanga River in Bgy. Sta. Isabel, Cabiao at 6:00 p.m.
She was reported missing after she was last seen jumping off the Jaen Bridge last August 26, Nelson Santos, a relative, told police.
The Cabiao Police requested the assistance of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) and an autopsy of the victim’s body to determine the cause of death, but her family declined.
Ferrer said the victim’s remains were taken to the Lajum Funeral Parlor in Bgy. Mallorca here for proper disposition.
