NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office director, Brigadier General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. yesterday announced the arrest of a Polish national wanted for fraud in his own country during an operation in Quezon City.

The official said 48-year-old Cesary Krynski was arrested on the strength of an immigration order and an Interpol Notice on Wanted Person Diffusion issued by Polish authorities.

Immigration Commission Norman G. Tansingco issued the warrant to arrest the foreign national last Monday in connection with a warrant of arrest for fraud, swindling, and forgery in violation of the Polish Penal Code issued by the Poland Bielsko-Biala District Court.

Brig. Gen. Nartatez said that members of the NCRPO Regional Intelligence Division and Regional Special Operations Group, with the support of the BI Fugitive Search Unit, the Philippine Center for Transnational Crime, and the PNP Intelligence Group tracked down the accused inside a unit of Victoria Towers in Panay Avenue, Diliman, Q.C. past 8 a.m. Wednesday.

The accused is now under the custody of the NCRPO RID-RSOG office pending his turnover to immigration authorities for deportation proceedings.

Brig. Gen. Nartatez said that he has ordered a stepped-up campaign against wanted persons including alien fugitives in the country amid their effort to keep peace and order in Metro Manila.

He said that since Wednesday, a total of nine most wanted persons have been apprehended by NCRPO personnel.
