Vaccination cards

REPORTS that some individuals had booster shots even with the limited supply of COVID-19 vaccines have thrust out front the need to set up a centralized database system of all fully-vaccinated people.

Like all other well-meaning Filipinos, including Sen. Win Gatchalian, we cannot overemphasize the importance of “closely monitoring” the progress of the government’s nationwide vaccination program.

“Dapat matagal na itong centralized database dahil dito natin makikita kung merong nag-doble sa pagpapabakuna. Hindi natin maiiwasan minsan na merong ilan na hindi lang iisa ang address,” said Senator Gatchalian.

The highly-articulate and workaholic senator from Valenzuela City said that it is certainly saddening and lamentable that there are people who are taking advantage of the situation.

“Yung iba, nagpabakuna na sa isang local government unit, tapos nagpa-booster shot sa isang LGU,” Gatchalian added.

At the same time, Gatchalian proposed the inclusion in the centralized database the names of all those whose vaccinations were shouldered by the private sector or private employer-companies.

Under the tripartite agreement that private firms entered into with the government that allowed them to procure anti-COVID-19 vaccines, the latter are required to submit a list of vaccinated individuals.

The submission of the list is to enable the government to monitor the progress of the private sector’s vaccination program.

Given the still limited supply of COVID-19 vaccines in the country, concerned authorities should look deeper into the reported booster shot incidents.

Aksyon na para di na maulit ang mga ito.
