TINGOG Partylist, in partnership with the Office of the Speaker, joined hands with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in delivering Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) to some 2,000 residents from the Queen City of the South.

Jam-packed with surprises, thousands of locals including persons with disability (PWDs), senior citizens, women, and other underrepresented sectors gathered at the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex to receive financial assistance amounting to ₱5,000.

Aside from the financial aid, lucky winners of minor and major raffle prizes also received grocery packages, rice sacks, appliances, bicycles, and motorcycles.

Tingog Partylist first nominee and chairperson of the House Committee on Accounts Rep. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez gracefully engaged with her constituents and led the distribution of financial aid and raffle prizes, effectively showcasing the powerful impact of collective action.

The event was also attended by prominent officials, including Mandaue Mayor Jonas Cortes, Mandaue Lone District Rep. Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano-Dizon, DSWD Region 7 Assistant Regional Director for Operations Juanito Cantero, OPAV Undersecretary Terence Calatrava, Vice Mayor Glenn Bersede, Board member Thadeo Ouano, Hon. Jimmy Lumapas, Hon. Oscar del Castillo, Hon. Malcolm Sanchez, Hon. Nerry Soon, Hon. Jen Delmar, and Hon. Cynthia Remedio.

Excitement filled the air as locals witnessed the vibrant performances of local dancers, drum corps, and cultural performers.

Also present to spread happiness was the father-son tandem Crazy Duo who showed their comical stints by blending comedy and humorous songs to entertain the audience.

Speaking on behalf of his constituents, Mayor Cortes expressed his immense gratitude for the assistance that they received.

“Dahil nagtanim si Congwoman Yedda ng pagmamahal sa mga Mandauenon, ibabalik natin ito sa kanya! Dalangin namin ay bigyan pa siya Yedda ng mahabang panahon na makapag-serbisyo,” he said.

Ouano-Dizon also extended her appreciation to Tingog for its commitment to provide assistance to the Cebuanos.

She thanked Tingog and the Office of the Speaker for choosing Mandaue again.

“Noong nakaraan ay isang libong Mandanauenons ang nabiyayaan ng cash assistance at ngayon naman ay dinoble pa ng Tingog! Maraming salamat Tingog at mabuhay ka Congwoman Yedda!” she said.

Rep. Yedda Romualdez emphasized the long-standing fact that Cebuanos, especially the indigents, can depend on Tingog.

She returned the appreciation and gratitude to the local partners for their warm welcome and for ensuring that the services spearheaded by Tingog – be it medical assistance, transportation assistance, burial assistance, and cash assistance – reach all communities.

Through this strong partnership, she added, Tingog is now the leading partylist in terms of services rendered.

“Dahil gusto kong sulit ang pagpunta ninyo dito, lahat ay makakatanggap ng P5,000 cash assistance!,” Rep. Yedda gleefully announced.

Before wrapping up the program, Ouano-Dizon once again took the stage and acknowledged the presence of Rep. Yedda Romualdez’ mother, Yedda Mendoza-Kittilsvedt, and sister, Happy Calatrava, who were present to support and celebrate Congwoman Yedda’s 50th Birthday.

With this, she pronounced: “CYKR is not just a friend, but a family!” More than 2,000 people inside the sports complex greeted her in unison.

This significant initiative stood as a testament to Tingog Partylist and Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez’s commitment to provide genuine social service.

With 2,000 Cebuanos successfully provided with immediate and equitable financial assistance, Tingog’s, legacy of providing aid to different communities across the country is once again fulfilled.
