NAVOTAS Congressman John Rey Tiangco, together with Rolando Dela Torre, District Director of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)-CAMANAVA, led the distribution of tool kits to Navoteño tech-voc graduates, Wednesday.

Some 48 passers of Bread Making Leading to Bread and Pastry Production NC (National Certificate) II received oven and baking tools such as a digital weighing scale, mixing bowl, and measuring cup and spoon under the “Special Training for Employment Program”.

The distributed tool kits are valued at P5,000 each.

The beneficiaries trained and completed their course in December 2021 at Horizons Institute of Technology, a partner technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institute (TVI) of the Navotas Vocational Training and Assessment (NAVOTAAS) Institute.

“Aside from the free courses offered at NAVOTAAS Institute, we teamed up with other tech-voc centers in neighboring cities so that Navoteños will have access to more courses and learning opportunities,” Tiangco said.

“We hope that by providing them with quality skills training and scholarship benefits, including allowances and tool kits, they will be more eager to pursue their dream careers and businesses,” he added.

The graduates received P2,600 worth of training support funds and allowances for Internet and personal protective equipment (PPE) earlier.

Also present in the ceremony were Michael Caisip, Technical Education and Skills Development Specialist II of TESDA CAMANAVA, Leslie Borromeo, and Heidi Ramos, Marketing Manager and Registrar of Horizons Institute of Technology, respectively.

Since January this year, 350 have graduated from NAVOTAAS Institute.
