THE trademark Pinoy bayanihan spirit is overflowing with much vigor at the Takbo at Laro Tayo 3K run/walk to be held on Nov. 12 in Florida.

What started out as a mini-activity grew into a much-awaited major athletic event, participated in by Pinoys, Fil-Ams and Filipinos at heart from various cities.

Just goes to show that where there are Filipinos, there is bayanihan. One can’t simply exist without the other. Similar to perennial partners kare-kare and bagoong, chicharon and suka, suman and mangga and the classic ulam and kanin.

Takbo at Laro Tayo is a celebration of everything about family, fitness, fun and community. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Bantay Kalikasan program of ABS-CBN Foundation Internaitonal.

The day will start with a 3K fun run/walk of participants from all ages, gender and races. Adding flavor to the runathon-walkathon is a food festival featuring mouth-watering classic Pinoy dishes.

The fun will continue at the volleyball court Osceola High School Gym with special guest, Inigo Pascual.

“Our mission is to provide opportunities to be active, be fit, to have fun and be healthy. We also aim to bring our Fil-Am community closer together through common interests in sportsmanship and competition,” chorused the organizers.

The grateful organizers, on behalf of the staff and commited athletes of the TFC Florida Volleyball Team, thank their supporters, media partners, runners and participating teams from different cities for supporting the event.
