Suspect in rape of girl, 13, arrested

LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte — Police arrested Tuesday morning the suspects in the rape of a 13-year-old girl and dubbed by the police as the No. 1 most wanted person in the provincial level, in barangay 5, San Vicente, Sarrat.

Based on a report, Col. Julius Calima Suriben, Ilocos Norte police director, said

John Llyod Bolibol, 24, of Brgy. 21, San Marcos, Sarrat, was nabbed by a tracker team of the Sarrat PNP led by Major Hermie Ancheta, chief of police.

Col. Suriben said the accused was arrested based on a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Bonhoefer Vergara Bernardez, Assisting Judge of First Judicial Region, Regional Trial Court, Branch 11, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte with no bail bond.

Police gathered that last October 2, 2022 the mother of the victim, a resident of Laoag City together with her 13-year-old daughter, a Grade 8 student and a resident of Laoag City personally appeared at the Sarrat Police Station and reported that the girl was sexually molested by the suspect around 7-8 p.m. on September 10, 2022 inside the suspect’s house in brgy 21 San Marcos, Sarrat, Ilocos Norte.

Based on a police report, the suspect allegedly invited the victim via Facebook messenger to go out with him for a snack on September 10, 2022.

The suspect fetched the victim at the national highway near the victim’s house as agreed upon and brought her to his alleged house in Brgy 21 San Marcos, Sarrat, Ilocos Norte where the sexual abuse supposedly took place.

The arrested suspect is now under the custody of Sarrat PNP for documentation prior to his turnover to the court of origin. In compliance with the PNP mandate, the tracker team used an Alternative Recording Device in serving the warrant of arrest.
