A SURVEY firm conducted a review into the sentiments of Filipinos on presidential candidates in the 2022 national elections.

Tangere, an award-winning research company that provides quick and easy data gathering by leveraging mobile application technology and social media engagement to solve the critical need for timely actionable insights and data-driven decision-making, launched a survey into the opinions of Filipinos via online.

Martin Xavier Penaflor, founder and CEO of the digital research group, presented the results of their survey in “The Voice of the Online Filipinos,” a series of insightful deep-dives into the points of view of the Filipino voters in the upcoming elections.

Some 1,200 respondents from the National Capital Region, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao participated in the online survey.

The survey revealed that Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was the leading presidential candidate.

On the question on reasons why Marcos Jr. is perceived to be as strong as his father, 36 to 50 year old female respondents answered: “May isang salita siya, humble at may paninindigan. Kahit gaano kadami ang ibinabato sa kanya na kasalanan ng pamilya niya ay straight lang siya kung ano ang alam nya na makakatulong at makakabuti sa taumbayan.”

“Nakita naman po ni BBM (Bongbong Marcos) and pamamahala ng kanyang ama. Alam n’ya kung ano ang sinimulan at natapos na mga proyekto ng kanyang ama. Kahit sinong anak, nanaisin na maging kasing tibay na makatulad sa ama,” male respondents aged 51 and up said.

The survey also showed that one in every two Filipinos believe that should Marcos Jr. win the presidency, it will make the return of traditional politics in the Philippines.

Tangere has 600,000 online communities that have conducted 500 surveys — commissioned and non-commissioned — both in public and private sectors.

Meanwhile, Penaflor said the survey results on Thursday was one of the many more on Tangere surveys that will focus on the “voice of the online Filipinos.”
