Sara resigns from HNP
DAVAO City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte resigned as chairperson and member of the regional party Hugpong ng Pagbabago, HNP Secretary General Anthony G. Del Rosario announced Thursday.
“At 9:30 a.m. today, 11 November 2021, Mayor Sara Z. Duterte tendered her resignation from Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP),” Del Rosario said.
In her letter to officers and members of HNP, Del Rosario said Duterte stated that, “It is with profound sadness that I hereby tender my resignation from our beloved party. My support will always be with you and I will always be grateful for all the things you have taught me.”
“While we are saddened by her resignation, we however wish her all the best in her future plans. Godspeed po Mayor Sara. In our hearts, you will always be our Chairperson. We love you po,” del Rosario said.
Last Tuesday, Duterte withdrew her bid for reelection as the deadline set by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for the substitution of candidates for the 2022 presidential elections draws near.
“This afternoon, I withdrew my candidacy for Davao City mayor,” Duterte-Carpio said on her Facebook page.
