San Pablo City wins Gawad Kalasag 2022

THE City of San Pablo, Laguna was awarded the 2022 Gawad Kalasag Seal and Special Awards for Excellence in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management and Humanitarian Assistance for garnering a rating of “Beyond Compliant (Excellent)” in the criteria set by the National Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC).

With the highest local government unit (LGU) score of three, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and Council (CDRRMOC) obtained an average rating of 2.86 for Structure (2.88), Competency (2.76), Management Systems (3), Enabling Policies (3), Knowledge Management and Advocacy (2.5), and Partnership and Participation (3).

Based on the assessment of the NDRRMC, the city government of San Pablo, headed by Mayor Vicente B. Amante, “exceeded” the standards for the establishment and functionality of the CDRRMOC as prescribed under Sections 11 and 12 of RA (Republic Act) 10221.

Mayor Amante extends his gratitude and congratulations to CDRRMO, headed by Asst. CDRRMO Vanessa Titular, staff and volunteers, and members of the CDRRMC for their commitment and effective implementation of disaster management systems in the city.

Other LGU awardees (beyond compliance) in Laguna are Sta. Rosa City, Binan City, San Pedro City, Kalayaan, Nagcarlan, and Alaminos.
