Salonga picks Gadon, 4 Senate bets

SAN ANTONIO, Nueva Ecija – Controversial lawyer Lorenzo “Larry” Gadon is one of the four senatorial candidates on the shortlist and is currently being endorsed by the camp of re-electionist Mayor Arvin C. Salonga in this town for the upcoming May 9 polls, yesterday.

Aside from Gadon, whose wife Bernadette De Leon-Gadon hails from Bgy. Tikiw here, also included in the shortlist are former senator Jinggoy Estrada, former Public Works and Highways secretary Mark Villar, and former chief presidential legal counsel Secretary Salvador “Sal” Panelo.

On top of the four senatoriables, Salonga, who is allied with the Unang Sigaw Partido ng Pagbabago local party of Gov. Aurelio M. Umali, reiterated his camp’s full support to the candidacies of UniTeam presidential and vice presidential bets, former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio, daughter of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Gadon is running for a third bid for a Senate seat under the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL), a political party founded in the 1970s by the late former President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr.

Salonga’s “Gawa Hindi Salita” team which endorsed the respective bids of BBM-Sara and that of Gadon, Estrada, Villar, and Panelo, include re-electionist vice mayor Julie Maxwell and councilor-bets Maneng Balcos, Amang Carpio, RC Cruz, Cris Cunanan, Eddie Ostares, Daniel Pamintuan, Enye Umali, and Roy Juliano.
