TANZA, Cavite – Riders and members of the LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queers/question, intersex, plus) in Cavite joined the national movement pushing for Manila Mayor Isko “Yorme” Moreno to run for president in the May 2022 elections.

Moreno’s “no discrimination” style of governance made Manny Capiral, president and founder of the Philippine Eagles Riders Club and an advocate of rider’s right, and LGBTQI+ Cavite Bachelorette founder Radjie Gross decide to support Moreno’s presidential bid.

The groups said Moreno is the best candidate for the highest post.

The two led their respective groups in showing their commitment of support to Ikaw Muna (IM) Pilipinas during the launching of its Cavite Chapter at Oasis Hotel, Tanza, Cavite last Thursday.

Capiral hailed Moreno’s ongoing vaccination and relief projects.

“Basta nasa Maynila ka, entitled ka sa bakuna at iba pang anyo ng ayuda, hindi usapin sa kanya kung Manilenyo ka o hindi,” Capiral said.

Capiral also mentioned Moreno’s political will and good personality.

Gross, meanwhile, cited the passing of Manila City Ordinance 8695 or the Manila LGBTQI+ Protection Ordinance, an anti-discrimination ordinance for the LGBTQI+ community.

Gross said the measure is a solid proof of how Moreno protects the welfare and rights of the LGBTQI community, which has long been discriminated against by the society.
