QC cops nab suspect in rape of GF’s cousin
COPS arrested a suspect who allegedly “raped” his girlfriend’s cousin in Quezon City.
According to the police, the suspect, 24, was a resident of Barangay Gulod, Novaliches, QC.
A report from the Novaliches Police Station (PS) 4 showed the incident happened on March 26, 2023, when the 19-year-old victim was sleeping together beside her cousin in their grandmother’s house in Novaliches, QC.
However, at around 2:30 a.m., the suspect took advantage of the sleeping victim and allegedly inserted his finger into her private part, causing her to wake up from her sleep.
Further investigation revealed that the victim initially told her cousin about the incident, but the latter did not believe her and told her that it could be a “bad dream.”
It appeared that the victim was the cousin of the suspect’s girlfriend according to probers.
The victim then told her father about the incident and then sought the assistance of the PS-4 operatives, which resulted in the immediate arrest of the suspect.
The victim was also subjected to a physical examination at the PNP Forensic Group, Camp Crame, QC.
The suspect will be charged with rape before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
QCPD Director P/Brig. Gen. Nicolas D Torre III commended the PS-4 operatives for their immediate response to the incident which resulted in the arrest of the suspect and said “Ito ay isang patunay na ang kapulisan ay iyong maaasahan sa bawat oras. Isang tawag lang sa presinto, sila ay nandiyan na sa loob ng tatlong minuto.”
