FIVE more “high-value drug targets” were hauled to jail by agents of the Police Regional Office 11 (PRO11) in the wake of its stepped-up anti-narcotics drive in Southern Mindanao, the Journal Group learned on Friday.

PRO11 Director Brigadier General Benjamin H. Silo Jr. said that two of the suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Purok Centro in Sitio Taganilao in Barangay Tamisan, Mati City in Davao Oriental past 6:00 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 8).

In a report to Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr., the PRO11 director said that recovered from the suspects were some 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000 and the buy-bust money.

A 3rd suspect, the top 7 drug personality in the region, was arrested in a sting inside Room 4 of Kings Field Inn located in Purok Talisay, Seminary Drive in Bgy. West, Tagum City, past 11:00 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 7).

The suspect yielded an estimated P17,000 worth of shabu, the marked money paid to him by an undercover officer and an unlicensed .38 revolver with four live ammunition.

Silo said that the two other suspects were arrested on Wednesday in a buy-bust operation at Malvar Street in Bgy. Zone 3, Digos City in Davao del Norte.

Members of the Digos City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit, the PRO11 Regional Drug Enforcement Unit, and the Davao del Sur Police Provincial Office conducted the sting past 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, which led to the arrest of the two local residents.

Recovered were five plastic sachets of shabu valued at P10,000 and the marked money.

All suspects are now facing non-bailable charges for selling and possessing prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said the PRO11 director.
