PRO-6 cops seize P5.5M shabu

TWENTY-EIGHT drug targets in Western Visayas were arrested by agents of the Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 in various anti-narcotics operations in the region last week.

The relentless operation led to the confiscation of P5.5 million worth of shabu and the arrest of the 25 targets, according to PRO-6 director Brigadier General Sydney N. Villaflor.

One of the suspects, alias Bugarno, 40, of Brgy. Poblacion in Zone 1, Estancia, Iloilo yielded 150 grams of shabu valued at P1.020 million during his arrest last Thursday.

Two other suspects, alias Mitch and Clyde, were arrested during a buy-bust operation in Purok Sigay, Brgy. 2 in Bacolod City last Friday morning.

Recovered from the duo were six heat-sealed plastic packets containing 232 grams of shabu worth P1.58 million, several drug paraphernalia and the buy-bust money topped by a marked bill.

Four other suspects, ‘Jenjen, Kloyd, Bordigol and Jojo,’ were arrested during a sting at Zone 5 in Brgy. Boulevard in Molo, Iloilo City past 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Recovered from their possession were 19 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing 210 grams of shabu worth P1.428 million, various drug paraphernalia, a caliber .45 semi-automatic pistol with a magazine containing six live ammunition and the buy-bust money topped by a marked P1,000 bill.

Villaflor said that the Iloilo City Police Office also arrested five suspects who yielded 100.5 grams of shabu worth P646,000.

He identified the suspects as alias ‘Titoy, John and Kian,’ who were apprehended during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Nonoy in Iloilo City past 9:00 p.m. Monday.

Another suspect, alias ‘BR/VR’ was arrested in a sting in Brgy. Funda-Dalipe in San Jose, Antique around 1:10 a.m. Tuesday. He was found in possession of 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000.

Two other suspects yielded 35 grams of shabu with a market value of P238,000 in Guimaras, while four were arrested in Negros Occidental after they sold nearly P130,000 worth of the same drug to an undercover officer.
