PRO 4-A cops bag top CPP-NPA official

A RANKING official of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) in the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) region was captured by agents of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 4-A in operation in Baras, Rizal on Thursday afternoon, a report to PRO 4-A Director Brigadier General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said Friday.

The suspect was identified with the alias “Ka Dad/Banjo,” described as an “Executive Committee” member of the CPP/NPA’s Sub-Regional Military Area 4-A and, at the same time, its supply and finance officer and an NPA platoon leader.

The 55-year-old suspect, who has been identified as the 8th most wanted CPP/NPA personality in the Calabarzon region, was arrested on the strength of a warrant for murder and attempted murder issued by Judge Marylou Meneses of the Infanta, Quezon Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 65 on October 26, 2021.

Members of the PRO 4-A Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB), Regional Intelligence Division and Regional Intelligence Unit, the Baras Municipal Police Station (MPS), the Rizal Police Provincial Office (PPO), the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), the Philippine Army (PA), the Military Intelligence Group 4 and the Naval Intelligence Security Group joined hands in tracking down the suspect in Southville 9, Phase 2 in Barangay Pinugay in Baras municipality.

Said to be a resident of Kasiglahan Village in Bgy. San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal, the suspect who was also described as a CPP/NPA political instructor, has been the subject of a series of joint PNP AFP operations for his alleged involvement in different criminal activities in the Calabarzon region before he was captured around 4:10 p.m. Thursday.

The suspect is now being held in a Rizal police lock-up facility pending his presentation to court and further disposition by the judge.

Members of the PRO 4-A RMFB led by Lieutenant Colonel Agosto M. Asuncion and Captains Moh. Nasser Jibrael Baiddin and Karl Axel Sta. Clara led the arrest of the accused following days of surveillance.
