PNP-DEG agents confiscate over P700K shabu in Cavite

PHILIPPINE National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP- DEG) director, Brigadier General Remus B. Medina on Thursday announced the arrest of a 36-year ‘high-value individual’ in Calabarzon region after she conspired with another man to sell more than P700,000 worth of shabu to an undercover officer in Cavite province.

In a report to PNP chief, General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar, the PNP-DEG director identified the arrested suspect as Analyn de la Cruz, a resident of 415 Barangay Miape Longos, Zapote 5 n Bacoor City, Cavite.

The woman’s partner identified as Ricky Castillo alias ‘Lace,’38, managed to escape arrest and is still being hunted as of press time.

Brig. Gen. Medina said that undercover officers from the PNP-DEG Special Operations Unit 4-A arrested the suspect 1 p.m. Wednesday. Recovered from her possession were an estimated 105 grams of shabu valued at P714,000.

The suspects will be facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the official said.

Medina likewise reported the service of another warrant of arrest for violation of RA 9165 against Vergel Cervantes,48, a resident of 36 Alapan, Imus City in Cavite who is already being held at the Cavite Bureau of Jail Management and Penology facility in Imus City.

He said that the warrant was issued against the accused by Judge Amabel Robles-Buenaluz of the Imus City Regional Trial Court Branch 20 for violation of RA 9165 on October 16, 2020.
