Dog devours girl, 12
A DECOMPOSING body of a 12-year-old rape-slay victim was found devoured by a stray dog in Nabua, Camarines Sur.
Police Regional Office 5 (PRO5) spokesperson Maj. Luisa Calubaquib said the victim was a resident of Bgy. San Antonio, Ogbon.
The girl was found rotting, with her hands and feet devoured by a stray dog, in a bush beside the road in Bgy. Bustrac in Nabua.
The victim was reported missing by her grandmother.
Authorities theorized the victim was raped before she was killed then her body dumped in the grassy portion in Bgy. Bustrac.
A resident near the area said she was surprised her dog came home with a foul smell. The following day, she followed the dog and was shocked to see the decomposing young girl, whose flesh was eaten by the animal.
Meanwhile, a man linked to the death of the victim on Wednesday was shot and killed by the police inside the Nabua Police Station.
Nabua police chief Maj. Divino John Pelea said the suspect, a resident of Bgy. Santiago Old, allegedly tried to grab his service firearm tucked in his waist while being interviewed at the police station.
Lt. Col. Alex Peñafiel, who saw the incident, immediately shot the susoect.
The suspect died while being taken to a hospital.
