Sorsogon ‘rapist’ nabbed in Mabalacat
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – A man wanted for raping a minor was arrested on Wednesday in Bgy. Mabiga, this city.
In a report to Pampanga provincial police director Col. Arnold Ibay, Mabalacat City police chief Col. Soledad Elefanio said suspect alias Melchor, 33, a construction worker, was arrested at his residence in Bgy. Mabiga based on a warrant issued by Sorsogon City Regional Trial Court Branch 92 for rape with no bail recommended.
Elefanio said the suspect went into hiding for 13 years after allegedly raping his 13-year-old niece in Donsol, Sorsogon City.
“The successful arrest of the suspect is a result of this station’s intel driven operations and diligent efforts to place lawless elements behind the bars of justice in adherence to the orders of C. Ibay and PRO3 regional director Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon,” Elefanio said.
