Phoenix downs Terrafirma, NLEX nips Converge

NO Du’Vaughn Maxwell, no problem for Phoenix Super LPG.

The Fuel Masters lost Maxwell midway in the third quarter but still played well enough to beat Terrafirma, 125-100, in the PBA Governors’ Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

.Maxwell was thrown out of the game after he was assessed for an F1 against Terrafirma counterpart Jordan Williams with 6:32 left in the third quarter.

That led to his outright disqualification as he was already called for a technical foul earlier.

Maxwell finished with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists.

Jason Perkins finished with 14 points and seven rebounds. comebacking Jvee Mocon added 13 points, two rebounds and four assists and Encho Serrano had 12 points for Phoenix, which ended a two-game slide and moved up to 2-5 overall.

Juami Tiongson had 27 points for Terrafirma, which dropped to who fell to 2-5 after suffering its third straight loss.

Alex Cabagnot added 16 points.

Williams managed 14 points on a dismal 3-of-15 shooting and 10 rebounds in nearly 41 minutes.

In the second game, Wayne Selden and Kevin Alas combined for 66 points as NLEX defeated Converge, 116-112, for its fifth win in seven matches

Selden fired 35 points while Alas added a personal season-high 31 points as the Road Warriors m9ved up into a tiecwith the FiberXers.
