P1M shabu, illegal firearm seized from street sweeper

A STREET sweeper who yielded P1,020,000 worth of shabu and illegal firearm was arrested during a checkpoint conducted by Eastwood Police Station (PS 12) Quezon City.

PLt. Col. Cristine Tabdi, Station Commander of PS 12, identified the suspect as Anthony Vivero, 38, and resident of Addition Hills, Madaluyong City.

A report showed that PS 12 personnel were conducting a checkpoint at about 1 a.m. of January 5, 2022 along Calle Industria corner Manggahan, Bagumbayan, and flagged down the suspect, who was on board a motorcycle, for verification.

When asked to show pertinent documents of his motorcycle, it was revealed that the suspect’s motorcycle was unregistered and his driver’s license is fake.

The police officers asked Vivero to show the content of his black sling bag and he yielded 150 grams of shabu valued at P1,020,000, a glass tube pipe with marijuana, a .9mm Norinco pistol with five ammunition, drug paraphernalia which resulted in his immediate arrest. Meanwhile, the suspect’s Yamaha Mio with MV File No. 1380-0868-256 will also be impounded.

The suspect will be charged with violation of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and violation of RA 10591 or The Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition while an Ordinance Violation Receipt (OVR) was issued for driving without license and unregistered motorcycle.
