No damage to airports from Typhoon Karding – CAAP
THE Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) confirmed that airports on the track of Typhoon “Karding” reported no major damages to their facilities, and operations remained normal.
As reported by its respective airport managers to CAAP Acting Director General Captain Manuel Antonio “Skee” Tamayo, Luzon airports in CAAP Area 1 (Baguio, Laoag, Vigan, Lingayen, Rosales, and San Fernando Airports), Area 2 (Tuguegarao, Cauayan, Palanan, Bagabag, Basco, and Itbayat Airports), Area 3 (Plaridel, Iba, Baler, Alabat, Jomalig, Calapan, Lubang, Mamburao, Marinduque, San Jose, Pinamalayan, Wasig, Romblon, and Sangley), Area 4 (Puerto Princesa, Busuanga, Cuyo, and San Vicente), and Area 5 (Bicol International Airport, Bulan, Sorsogon, Daet, Masbate, Naga, and Virac) incurred no damages and passenger terminal and boarding operations are normal.
Additionally, LIPAD Operations Manager Dante Basanta reported no significant damage from Clark International Airport (CIA). Clark Facility-in-Charge Dennis Morfe also reported that Clark Air Traffic Service (ATS) resumed normal operations at 3:00 a.m. Monday.
