PAYING it forward, handing out an ice-cold bottle of water to people working outside on a hot day, buying meal for a vagrant, or pay the meal or fare of someone or an elderly, or donate to an organization helping others or the environment, these are the just the many random acts of kindness we can do for the better world.

Big or small, a person’s kindness can make a bad day good, and a good day better. Bringing a smile to others would certainly cheer up their hearts.

For MR. D.I.Y, the nation’s favorite family and home improvement one-stop shop retailer, they recently leveled up their corporate social responsibility (CSR) program with “A-OK (Acts of Kindness)” campaign along with its four pillars which focuses on: Family Welfare, Preservation and Protection of the Environment, Youth and Education, and Disaster Preparedness.

The MR. D.I.Y. A-OK campaign renewed their engagement with World Vision, SOS Children’s Villages, and GOM Football Center for Excellence, and included additional partners ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation and TV5’s Alagang Kapatid Foundation during the recent launching of A-OK campaign in Quezon City.

During the event, MR.D.I.Y. Chief Executive Officer Roselle Marisol Andaya and Charles Salecina, senior marketing manager, handed over P1.5 million donation to GOM Football Center (P200,000); SOS Children’s Villages (P700,000); and World Vision (P600,000) as they renewed partnership with them.

Ms. Andaya said the store through the “A-OK” campaign affirmed its commitment to further serve and spread goodwill to its communities.

Ms. Andaya explained their Act of Kindness started in 2021 with the Good Bag campaign, where proceeds from the purchase of MR.D.I.Y. eco-bags nationwide were donated to its NGO partners.

“The success of the Good Bag Campaign inspired us to level up our CSR program into the A-OK campaign,” Ms. Andaya added. “We assured everyone that we will strive to create more meaningful initiatives and partnerships with both the public and the private sectors that are reflective of our program’s four pillars.” By Bhaby See
