THE Metro Manila Council (MMC) composed of mayors of Metro Manila have agreed to shorten curfew hours to 12 midnight to 4 a.m. starting June 15.

This was announced by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Benhur Abalos following a meeting of Metro Manila Mayors on Sunday evening.

Curfew hours over the metropolis are currently being enforced from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. under the implementation of general community quarantine with heightened restrictions but all the members of MMC, in a bid to propel economic activity, decided to shorten curfew hours.

“This will give more time sa mga taong kakain sa restaurants, sa mga malls na magbukas, sa travel time, at siguro makatulong sa ekonomiya,” Abalos said in a radio interview.
