Man stabs younger brother over loud noise

SAN JOSE CITY — A namesake of the late Filipino Olympian boxer Carlos Padilla Sr. on Sunday night was arrested after he stabbed his younger brother over loud noise in their home in this city.

City police head Lt. Col. Palmyra Guardaya said the 57-year-old suspect arrived home at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday and saw his sibling Regino, 44, and their relatives having drinks and making noise inside their house in Zone 11, Sitio Labak, Bgy. Tayabo.

Carlos confronted his brother about the loud noise, which resulted to a heated argument.

The quarrel became intense until the suspect grabbed a knife and stabbed his brother in the abdomen.

Regino was rushed to a nearby hospital while the suspect was arrested by responding barangay tanods.

Charges for frustrated homicide are being readied for filing in court against the arrested suspect.
