THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) yesterday received another 600,000 pieces of plastic cards that would be used in the printing of driver’s licenses (DL).

According to LTO chief Asst. Secretary Vigor Mendoza II, the latest delivery ensures continuity of effort to address the backlog following the lifting of the Writ of Preliminary Injunction by the Court of Appeals (CA).

Earlier, the agency also received one million pieces of plastic cards bringing to 1.6 million the total deliveries as a result of the lifting of the injunction.

“Magiging tuloy-tuloy ito hanggang makumpletong ma-deliver ang 3.2 million pieces ng plastic cards. We expect the completion of the delivery within 45 days after the first delivery on March 25,” Mendoza said.

A day after the one million delivery from Banner Plastic, the LTO chief immediately issued a schedule of renewal of expired driver’s licenses for motorists to finally get their plastic-printed licenses.

The renewal schedule was aimed at ensuring orderly processing and distribution of plastic-printed plastic cards in all LTO offices across the country.
