Nakipagkita ang mga opisyal ng Philippine Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (PCCCII) na pinangungunahan ng kanilang presidente na si Lugene Ang kay House of Representatives Minority Leader Marcelino “Nonoy” Libanan, Philippine National Police officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Jose Chiquito Malayo, at Presidential Legislative Liaison Office Undersecretary Agapito Guanlao para sugpuin na ang kidnap for ransom incidents ma tinatarget umano ang Filipino-Chinese community.
Libanan sa PNP: Mga KFR cases sugpuin
HINILING ni House Minority Leader Marcelino “Nonoy” Libanan sa Philippine National Police (PNP) na agarang sugpuin ang mga insidente ng kidnap for ransom bago ito maging malaking problema sa peace and order sa Metro Manila.
“We want these kidnapping gangs preying on the Filipino-Chinese community stamped out right away. We do not want their nefarious activities to mutate into a larger threat,” ani Libanan.
“This is clearly a law enforcement problem. The only reason these kidnappers are getting bolder is because they have not been apprehended, and they have not been put behind bars,” dagdag ni Libanan.
Ginawa ni Libanan ang pahayag matapos ang isang news conference kung saan humingi ang mga opisyal ng Philippine Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (PCCCII) ng tulong sa pamahalaan laban sa kidnapping syndicates na tumatarget sa Filipino-Chinese community.
Dumalo rin sa news conference sa Kamara de Representantes sina PNP officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Jose Chiquito Malayo at Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO) Undersecretary Agapito Guanlao.
Sinabi ni PCCCII secretary-general Bengsum Ko na naiulat ang karamihan sa kidnappings sa mga lungsod ng Pasay, Parañaque, Makati at Taguig.
Binasa rin ni Ko ang sulat na nilagdaan ni PCCCII president Lugene Ang na nagsabing nakatanggap sila ng 56 na ulat ng kidnapping incidents sa nakalipas na 10 araw, hindi kasama ang mga hindi naiulat na mga kaso.
Sinabi ni Ang na ang kidnappings ay banta “not only the safety of our citizens but also normal business activities.”
Umapela ito sa Kongreso at law enforcement agencies na maging aktibo sa pagsugpo ng mga kriminal laban sa mga sindikato ng kidnapping.
Sinabi ni Ang na dapat walang piyansa sa kidnappers.
“And the truth of the matter is that these kidnappers are foreigners, Chinese for that matter, so we should never allow these foreign criminal syndicates to do whatever they want in our country,” ani Ang.
Tiniyak naman ni Malayo na mabilis na kikilos ang Camp Crame sa lahat ng impormasyon na ibinigay ng PCCCII kaugnay sa mga insidente ng kidnapping na mistulang hindi napaulat sa kapulisan.
Sinabi ni Malayo na apat na kaso lamang ng kidnappings ang isinumbong sa kapulisan.
