A 33-YEAR-OLD jobless man who was allegedly depressed was believed to have shot himself at hoke Tuesday afternoon in Malabon City.

Malabon Police Sub-Station 3 commander P/Maj. Carlos Cosme said the body of the suicide victim was already in the early stage of decomposition when discovered by his 62-year-old widowed mother at around 3 p.m. inside the room of their house on Camia St. Bgy. Maysilo.

In his report to Malabon police chief P/Col. Albert Barot, homicide investigator P/SSgt. Jeric Tindugan said the body was discovered after his mother, a local traffic enforcer, smelled a foul odor coming from the victim’s room.

When the mother opened her son’s locked door using a duplicate key, she was shocked to see the body, covered in his own blood with a handgun beside him, prompting her to seek the assistance of personnel of Sub-Station 3.

Maj. Cosme said they recovered a caliber .38 revolver with an empty shell inside its chamber and one fired bullet beside the victim.

SSgt. Tindugan said the victim was depressed because he was unemployed and due to family problems. His mother executed a waiver seeking for the termination of investigation since she believes that there was no foul play in her son’s death.
