John, lumebel kina Brad Pitt at Ben Affleck … nagwagi ng best actor sa Venice International Film Festival
MALAKING karangalan ang ibinigay sa bansa ng aktor na si John Arcilla matapos tanghaling best actor sa 78th Venice International Film Festival para sa kanyang pagganap bilang mamamahayag na si Sisoy Salas sa On the Job: The Missing 8 ni Direk Erik Matti.
Kaliga na siya ngayon ng sikat na Hollywood actors gaya nina Brad Pitt, Ben Affleck, Sean Penn at Willem Dafoe na pawang ipinost niya sa IG bago siya nanalo.
Ganu’n na lang ang panghihinayang ni John na hindi siya nakadalo para personal na tanggapin ang Volpi Cup dahil sa Covid-19 pandemic.
Si Direk Erik, na nasa Venice kasama ang co-star ni John na si Dennis Trillo, Quark Henares (ng Globe Studios) at Dondon Monteverde (Reality Entertainment, produ ng OTJ: The Missing 8 series) ang tumanggap ng award sa ngalan ng aktor.
Sa kanyang Instagram postings, inialay ni John ang award sa mga mahal sa buhay na yumao kamakailan dahil sa coronavirus.
Parte ng IG video na kanyang in-upload ay naglalaman ng mga linyang, “I will not be able to kiss my own Volpi Cup there in the middle of Venice and on that red carpet just like the other 77 great actors whom I admire who have already kissed their own.
“I know that we came from different countries and we have different languages and cultures and yet I can feel that you understand me and we understand each other. It’s because of the art of cinema.”
Sa caption na kasama ng video, tinawag ni John ang award bilang “A CUP FULL OF LIFE.”
Aniya, “This VOLPI CUP is such a symbol of a milestone in my work as an actor. Just like my cup of life which is so full of blessings outpouring from the heavens and I wish I can share this to all my loved ones who left us in this lifetime. This most prestigious award I received today lift up my spirit to the Heavens and I am transforming this joy, achievement or victory or honor into love so that the loved ones I am missing can feel my heart which is outpouring with gratitude to all who love me and inspire me to get to where I am today and I’m thanking God for putting them into my life. Some of them are gone. I wish I can embrace all the people I love and my victory in one cup, but nay as they say… Life isn’t always perfect.”
