CUYAPO, Nueva Ecija – An octogenarian Japanese national was found dead with head injuries at a farm lot on Tuesday night here.

Police head Lt. Col. Erwin V. Ferry identified the fatality as Norio Kurumatsuka, 82, a native of Tokyo, Japan, and a temporary resident of Purok 3, Bgy. Columbitin, this town.

Police was alerted by a phone call from barangay captain Sancho Cardenas that a dead Japanese national was found in a farm lot at 12:30 a.m.

Responding lawmen found the victim lying lifeless in the area with his head believed hit by a still unknown object.

Ferry said the victim was a temporary tenant in a nipa hut owned by farmer Rolly Dumandan, 68, also of the same barangay.

He said the victim earlier got embroiled in a fistfight with a still unnamed suspect, who was arrested by the police.

“Pinalo po sa ulo ng suspect ang biktima. Nag-away po sila. Magkatabi sila ng kubo na tinitirhan,” Ferry said in a text message to the Journal Group.
