Indian nat’l shot dead in Navotas
A 33-YEAR-OLD Indian national was shot dead by a motorcycle-riding gunman Thursday before noon in a broad daylight ambush in Navotas City.
Mandeep Dhaliwal Singh of Arguelles St. Quezon City died on the spot from gunshot wounds in the back while the gunman immediately fled towards Lapu-Lapu Avenue while his cohort, who was riding in another motorcycle, escaped towards Road-10 going to the Manila area.
Initial report submitted by homicide investigator P/SSg Reysie Peñaranda to the office of Navotas Police Chief P/Col. Dexter Ollaging showed that while the victim was traveling on board his black motorcycle in the southbound lane of Road 10, Barangay NBBN, at around 11:20 a.m., he was blocked by a motorcycle driven by one of the suspects prompting him to stop.
The gunman, who was on another motorcycle, came from behind with a handgun and shot the victim thrice in the back, killing him instantly.
Operatives of Navotas City Police immediately conducted a dragnet operation, but they failed to identify and arrest the suspects while the motive behind the killing is yet to be determined.
