Imus City releases ‘Undas’ guidelines

IMUS CITY, Cavite – The city government here released guidelines in commemoration of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day through “kAAlalay sa Undas” program of Mayor Alex “AA” Advincula for October 31 and November 1, 2022, as Malacañan Palace declares Oct. 31 as a special holiday to give way to Filipino enough time to visit their departed loved ones.

The Imus local government unit (LGU) will be putting command posts in the cemeteries in coordination with local police and barangays and the local disaster and risk reduction and management office (DRRMO).

They will provide free services for the safe commemoration of Undas, like a lost and found assistance desk, wheelchairs for the elderly and with disabilities, cellphone charging stations, a first aid station, free: medicines, texts and calls, drinking water, and coffee.

The LGU also reminded individuals that cleaning, painting, and renovating the tomb is until Sunday only, October 30, 2022.

Children aged 12 and under are allowed to join as long as they are fully vaccinated; any vehicle is prohibited; items that can cause fire are not permitted; sharp objects are forbidden, such as knives, cutters, etc.

No videoke or things that can create loud sounds; Any kind of playing cards and gambling are also prohibited.

“I am asking for the cooperation of every Imuseño in following the above. I wish for a solemn, safe, and meaningful commemoration of Undas this year,” Mayor Advincula said on his social media page.
