Groundbreaking inilunsad para sa 2 stations ng MMSP
PINANGUNAHAN ni Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista ang matagumpay na pagsasagawa ng groundbreaking ceremony para sa Contract Package 102 (CP 102) ng Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) Biyernes, Abril 28, 2023.
Saklaw ng CP 102 ang pagtatayo ng dalawang underground subway stations – ang Quezon Avenue Station at East Avenue Station.
Sa seremonya, binigyang-diin ni Bautista ang napakaraming benepisyong hatid para sa bawat Pilipino ng kauna-unahang subway sa bansa, sa oras na operational na ito.
“The subway will not only provide comfort and convenience but also generate jobs. It will definitely be comfortable, affordable, safe, sustainable, and accessible,” ani Bautista.
“The whole subway will connect with different railway networks, such as LRT 1, MRT 3, MRT 7, and the Grand Common Station. It will also connect with LRT 2 at Anonas Station. It will also connect with two stations of the North-South Commuter Rail. We expect the subway to be operational by 2028,” dagdag na pahayag ng kalihim.
Oras na matapos ang subway, mas magiging mabilis, maginhawa, at seamless na ang biyahe mula at patungong Valenzuela at NAIA – dahil mula isang oras at sampung minuto ay magiging 45 minuto na lamang ang travel time rito. May kakayahan ding maka-accommodate ang subway ng 519,000 na mga pasahero kada araw, ayon sa DOTr.
Ang groundbreaking ceremony ay dinaluhan din nina Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar, Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., Minister of the Embassy of Japan Mr. Daisuke Nihei, DOTr Undersecretary for Railways Cesar Chavez.
DOTr Undersecretary for Legal Affairs and Chief of Staff Reinier Yebra, DOTr Undersecretary for Administrative Service Kim De Leon, DOTr Assistant Secretary for Railways Jorjette Aquino, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Senior Representative Kenji Kuronuma, Quezon City Office of the Mayor Representative Mark Victor Alimurung, Quezon City 1st District Representative Arjo Atayde, Consunji President/CEO Jeorge Consunji, Nishimatsu-DMCI joint venture Managing Officer Keiji Matshusita, at National Housing Authority (NHA) General Manager Joeben Tai.
