GROUNBREAKING CEREMONY OF SIARGAO ISLAND MEDICAL CENTER
Majority Leader Mannix Dalipe (half-seen), Cong Bingo Matugas, Dapa Mayor Elizabeth Matugas, House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez , DOH-OIC Maria Rosario Vergeire and William Scheirman of Schierman Construction Corp. lead the groundbreaking ceremony of the Siargao Medical Center (SIMC) located in Eastern Tacloban also known as “Bali of the Philippines”.
The nearest hospital is the Siargao District hospital with only 50 beds, three doctors, two medical technician and a pharmacist. The newly – enhanced SIMC was given P380 million under the national budget to construct the Level 2 medical facility.
The said medical center the will have 100 beds and different department include consulting specialists, OB-gyne, surgery, emergency and outpatient services, isolation and surgical facilities, departmentalized clinical services, respiratory units, general intensive care units.
The ancillary services will be upgraded from Secondary Laboratory to Tertiary Clinical Laboratory and x-ray capacity will be Second- Level.
