Ex-bgy captain-cum-businessman gunned down
A FORMER village chief turned trader on Wednesday was shot dead by motorcycle-riding armed men in Batangas City.
Batangas City Police Station investigators SMS Teodorico Magboo, Cpl. Jon Rien Mendroz and Cpl. Juan Ferador Alzate identified the victim as Benedicto Baes II, of Bgy. Pinamucan Proper, Batangas City.
Baes was at the Berbets Octane gasoline station in Sitio Takad, Bgy. Libjo having his Toyota Fortuner filled with gas when the suspects pulled over and shot him several times before fleeing at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
The victim was brought to Jesus of Nazareth Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival by attending physician Dr. Virgillo Pascual.
