TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija – Police shot dead a suspected drug peddler during a buy-bust-turned-gunfight and seized more than P100,000 worth of shabu during an operation conducted here on Saturday.

In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Valeriano T. De Leon, provincial police head Col. Jaime O. Santos said the slain suspect identified as Oliver Agapito, 46, alias Oli, of Bgy. Pula, this town, resisted arrest after undercover cops tried to bust him.

The suspect had brokered a drug sale in the area at 10:15 a.m.

Town police head Lt. Col. Heryl L. Bruno said the suspect became hostile and fired at his men, resulting in a firefight that left the suspect dead.

Probers recovered at the crime scene three plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 15 grams with a street value of P102,000, a .38 caliber revolver, and several slugs for a cal.9mm pistol.
