7 nabbed, P2.5M shabu seized in stepped up Cabanatuan drug ops

CABANATUAN CITY – Nueva Ecija police seized over P2.5 million worth of shabu and nabbed seven suspected drug peddlers, including a female call center agent, in separate stepped-up operations in this city on Saturday and early morning Sunday.

In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Valeriano T. De Leon, provincial police chief Col. Jaime O. Santos said the three separate anti-illegal drug operations were pulled off one after the other with the biggest drug haul amounting to P2.346 million seized in Sunrise Subd., Bgy. Bantug Norte at 3 a.m. Sunday.

Arrested were call center agent Sheryl Santos, 43, single, of Castro St., Bgy. Hulo, Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija.

The female suspect yielded 13 plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 345 grams with a Dangerous Drugs Board-worth of P2,346,000. Also seized from her were two digital weighing scales and buy-bust money amounting to P1,000.

Four hours earlier, city police head Lt. Col. Barnard Danie V. Dasugo said they also nabbed four men and a woman during a buy-bust in the same barangay at 11 p.m.

The drug bust led to the seizure of 25.25 grams of shabu worth P171,700, Dasugo said.

Nabbed were Leonardo Quiazon Jr., 45, jobless and Christopher Benase, 26, helper, both of Sunrise Subd., Bgy. Bantug Norte; Kim Pablo, 23, laborer and Mark Angelo Bautista, 32, laborer, both of Bgy. Valle Cruz; and Susan Milan, 55, jobless, of Purok 6, Bgy. Bantug Bulalo.

Col. Santos identified the seventh arrested suspect as Kenneth Amor Valino, 44, tricycle driver, of Batisan St., Bgy. Aduas Norte, this city.

Valino was collared after he sold a sachet of shabu to an undercover agent at 11 p.m. on Saturday.

Also seized from Valino were illegal drugs contained in a Marlboro cigarette pack with an approximate weight of 5.05 grams and a street value pf P34,340.
