Concrete mixer truck falls into river, 2 killed in Batangas
TWO men on Monday were killed when a concrete mixer truck they were riding fell into a river in Lian, Batangas.
Police identified the fatalities as truck driver Aniceto Gala and his companion John John Obligar.
The two met their tragic death at Sitio Hermosa in Bgy. Malaruhatan at 11:55 a.m. on Monday.
Gala was driving the mixer truck when upon reaching Sitio Hermosa, a part of the road beside the Nasugbu-Lian River collapsed.
The truck fell into the river, along with its occupants.
Rescuers and villagers rushed to the area and recovered Gala and Obligar from under the truck.
The victims were brought to the hospital, where they were declared dead on arrival.
An investigation showed the road collapsed due to the heavy load of the truck, which was then full of ready mixed concrete.
