THE Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) distributed a limited number of “Malasakit Help Kits” in various airports throughout the country in celebration of ‘Mother’s Day’ on Sunday, May 9.

The initiative, spearheaded by DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade, aims to show appreciation for mothers, through tokens of gratitude that will make their travel more convenient and comfortable.

Malasakit Help Desks (MHDs) also welcomed traveling mothers with freebies and personal care products. Malasakit Help Kit distribution is now ongoing at some airports in Area 10.

“Napakaganda ho sana na ibigay nating regalo ngayong Mother’s Day sa ating mga ina ‘yung pagpapakita ng safety at kalusugan, at mapakita at ipaglaban natin na tayo ay negative from COVID,” Tugade said.

“Sana ho ay sundin natin ang ating mga health protocols sa ating public transportation. Magsuot ng face mask at face shield, maghugas ng kamay, sundin ho natin ang proper physical distancing at pakiusap lang, huwag tayo kumain, makipag-chismisan sa loob ng pampublikong sasakyan,” Tugade added, as he reminded passengers through a video to be displayed at CAAP airports.

CAAP Director General Jim Sydiongco also extended his greeting to all loving moms on Mother’s Day.

“To all moms who continue being the strong and genuinely loving people they are, we thank you, honor, and appreciate you, especially during these difficult times,” Sydiongco said.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, CAAP continues to provide kits to those in need to ensure passenger convenience. The CAAP hopes that the small gesture of gratitude and appreciation brought comfort and convenience to traveling mothers on their special day.
