BuCor screens 710 inmates for possible release

A TOTAL of 710 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) in the minimum security compound of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City were screened and evaluated for possible release, officials of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said yesterday.

The Management Screening and Evaluation Committee (MSEC) of the BuCor said qualified inmates may be granted early release through various means, including pardon, parole, probation, and other forms of executive clemency.

The NBP is one of the seven prison facilities administered by BuCor.

In addition to NBP, the other facilities under BuCor’s jurisdiction include the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF) in Palawan, San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF) in Zamboanga City, Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City, Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) in Oriental Mindoro, Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF) in Davao del Norte, and Leyte Regional Prison (LRP) in Southern Leyte.
