BFP ready for typhoon, emergencies as rainy season starts

AS the rainy season has officially started,the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP-Pasig City) has intensified its preparedness to ensure that all necessary plans of action are in place for the safety and protection of the community.

Pasig City Fire Marshal Supt. Elaine Baylon-Evangelista said they already laid out plans to make sure that all operational readiness is in place during typhoons and other calamities.

Baylon said as early as the PAGASA declared the start of the rainy season, all BFP personnel and equipment, firetrucks and ambulance visibility were ready at all times to respond in any emergency.

The official added that with the efforts of the “Bumbero ng Barangay,” they already conducted meetings to evaluate and identify areas susceptible to flooding, inspected electrical posts, implemented tree-trimming operations, and declogging of canals and drainage systems.

Residents are urged by the agency to remain aler, cautious, follow announcements or reminders from authorities and urged to take proactive measures to be ready for the storm, mass flooding or possible evacuations.

The BFP-Pasig has been closely coordinating with different agencies in disseminating updates and vital information on typhoons to ensure the safety of the community and property.

“Our top priority is the safety and well-being of Pasig City residents. By working together with barangay officials and different agencies, our aim is to fortify our readiness, this is in line with the Bureau’s mission to save lives and properties,” Baylon said.
