BENJAMIN Alves is happy over the positive feedback his performance as Doc Migs Alcancia is getting in GMA Telebabad’s endearing romcom, “Owe My Love”. “We’re just thankful nina Lovi Poe and the rest of the cast that it clicked with TV viewers,” he says. “Kasi we thought they prefer watching dramatic soaps, but it turns out that because of the problematic times we’re facing now, they need to laugh more kaya nagustuhan nila ang ‘Owe My Love’. Netizens in social media post such encouraging reactions at talagang natutuwa sila sa hilarious situations portrayed in the show.”

Ben says his character, Doc Migs, currently suffers back-to-back setbacks with his lovelife and his career.

“Lovi as Sensen is still grieving over the loss of her dad, Mike Nacua, and she blames me, thinking he died because of medical malpractice on my part, so tinapos na niya lahat ng relations namin. Balak na lang niya ngayong maghanap ng trabaho abroad to have a fresh new start.”

Meanwhile, his Lolo Badong, played by Leo Martinez, is jarred from his dementia and suddenly remembers some of the memories he has lost. He recalls that he owes a lot to Sensen’s family, the Guipits. He comes clean to them and begs them for forgiveness.

Of course, the Guipits don’t easily forgive him, so he promises to give them one half of his riches. But the villainous and greedy Jackielou Blanco as Divina will not allow this as she wants to get Lolo Badong’s wealth for herself. She starts scheming how to accomplish this and how to deprive the Guipits of the money intended for them.

“Abangan nyo kasi marami pang pasabog na mangyayari sa next few episodes ng ‘Owe My Love’,” adds Benjamin, who’s also happy with the business he put up with his model girlfriend, Chelsea Robato.

This is an online flower business called House of Roses that offers fabulous arrangements of beautiful Ecuadorian roses in varied sheens and colors for any special occasion. In this time of the pandemic, this is the best way to express how you care for your loved ones.

Ben’s mother in Guam used to be in the flower business herself and is now helping them out in running it. Ben is very grateful to his Kapuso co-stars for being very supportive of his flower business. You can contact House of Roses on Instagram or Facebook.

Tekla goes dramatic, real homefront quiet

KAPUSO comedian Romeo Librada, better known as simply Tekla, tries something new in this Saturday’s episode of “Magpakailanman”. For a change, the funnyman goes dramatic playing a real life character, Dodoy (real name: Jay Kummer Tiberio), known in social media as the one and only Tubig Queen of Cebu City.

“Ang ganda ng kuwento ni Dodoy and I’m honored to play him in ‘Magpakailanman’,” says Tekla. “Isinilang siya sa gitna ng kahirapan, pero likas siyang masayahin at hindi nawawalan ng pag-asa sa buhay. He helps his mother and father in selling water to their waterless neighbors simula pa noong bata pa siya. Sa kabila noon, gusto niyang makatapos ng pag-aaral kaya kahit nilalait siya ng classmates niya, hindi siya nahihiya kasi alam niyang walang ibang makakatulong sa kanya kundi ang sarili niya.”

He employs a gimmick while selling water. He starts wearing colorful costumes as he goes around distributing water in their neighborhood and this entertained people no end.

“Dahil sa pagpupunyagi ni Dodoy at walang humpay na pagsusumikap, nakatapos siya ng kolehiyo,” adds Tekla. “Hindi lang ‘yun, pinarangalan din siya bilang isa sa outstanding youth sa kanilang lungsod. Dodoy will serve as a great source of inspiration for all poor people, so they will not lose hope in trying to achieve their dreams in life.”

Don’t miss the “Reyna ng Tubig: Dodoy Tiberio Story” in “Magpakailanman”, 8 PM this Saturday. Meanwhile, after his recent tumultuous conflict with his live-in partner named Michelle that reached Raffy Tulfo, everything is now once again all quiet on the western front for Tekla and his domestic life.
