Baby in backpack found hanging on gate
A BABY boy stuffed in a backpack was found abandoned outside a gate of a house in South Cotabato.
The backpack was left hanging on a gate at Purok Aquino, Bgy. San Miguel in Norala.
Witness Mary Kris said her uncle’s workers informed them about a blue backpack hanging on her uncle’s gate.
She said when they approached the bag, they heard a baby cry from inside.
They immediately opened the backpack and was shocked to see the baby.
The infant was brought to the hospital for medical check-up.
The tot is now under the care of the local Department of Social Welfare and Development Office.
Authorities are investigating who left the baby in the area.
